Long-legged stork

Stork is a large bird migratory with a height of one to one and a half meters and almost all large white wings and a long black tail. Beak and red feet long, making them look beautiful.

One of the striking characteristics of storks is the way they fly. When flying, they craned his head forward and pushed his legs back. Style of storks enables them to fly faster by cleaving the air aerodynamically. Every year, storks migrate to warm regions because they are very susceptible to cold. That is why when we see storks arriving, we also received the good news that summer soon. In the summer, storks live in a warm area stretching from Europe to North Africa and from Turkey to Japan. Before winter arrives, they move to the southern hemisphere in tropical regions of Africa and India.

Amazing, stork knows that in the southern hemisphere is warmer at that time. It is a miracle.

But even more amazing is that, after six months, right in the spring, storks flying back home, a distance of thousands of kilometers, and find the nests they have left. Truly amazing.

Storks find the nests that have been made years ago and occupied it back. But how do they find immediately nest that has been abandoned for so long? Do they use a compass in order not to lose their way? Of course, memory and sense of direction that are so good storks by God.

In addition, the slender-legged animals do not travel overseas because they need the land to stop and rest when they are tired. For this reason, they prefer traveling across seas close to land such as the Bosphorus, the Strait of Gibraltar and the Suez Canal.

Storks do not avoid human beings and they make their nests on top of buildings, trees and chimneys.

Usually flocks of storks migrate together. When they arrive in Europe, they spend some time there. Typically, during the first week of April, the male stork made a nest of twigs.

As we mentioned earlier, they chose the same place every year. He carefully maintain and sometimes leave the nest to find food. Several types of stork make their nests on the branches in the swamps and they live in groups.
