The fall of the Uruguayan Air Force Flight plane in the Andes: The Case Cannibalism Most Famous

This is the most famous case of cannibalism in the history, occurred in the mountains of Chile, the Andean-Argentine border-Chilli- in the winter of 1972. This event began with the fall of the chartered plane Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 carrying 45 passengers, including rugby team and his family, in the mountains of Chile, the Andes, October 13, 1972.

Of the accident, 29 passengers survived, but the rugged terrain made one after another falling victim. Eight people died buried by an avalanche, several others followed into the afterlife for various reasons, including, unusually cold temperatures and injury. Practically the only remaining 16 people, they are successfully delivered on December 23, 1972.

Even then, after they themselves struggling to find help, because the rescue operation had been discontinued long ago. Local authorities already consider them as missing victims were never found, until the victims came alone report their location. Extraordinary!!!

Imagine, at an altitude of 3,600 meters above sea level in winter was a great-great. Heavy snowfall, almost freeze everything. Well, these victims, only the clothes they wear, no food, anyone can not think normally. How to survive, survive, that's the only thing on their minds.

Painful, they are monitored by radio that they were stopped because of the search for the crash site was not found. The rescue operation was halted after an eight-day search, or 11 days they fall on the mountain. Authorities assume all the victims would have been no survivors. Exactly, they survive 72 days before the rescue team finally found. Even then, after two of the victims, Nando Parrado and Roberto Canessa, struggling to find help. Ending, all victims (16) were taken to hospital Santiago and treated for altitude sickness, dehydration, frostbite, fractures, scurvy and malnutrition.
